ROB RUN: How to Change Servers and Join Friends

Short answer: Kefir’s support guide directs players to Prison to switch to a friend’s server. Sending another party invite before changing servers does not resolve the mismatch.

Fix “they are on another server”

1. Confirm the state/server your friend is playing on. Agree who will move before anyone changes servers.
2. Open the global map and choose the Prison location.
3. Select Surrender to Feds to enter Prison.
4. Inside Prison, switch to your friend’s server.
5. Send the party invitation again after the switch.

These are the steps in Kefir’s party troubleshooting article. We have checked the written instructions, rather than tested a transfer on a live character.

Joining an existing squad or starting fresh?

Join an existing squad: the destination is the exact server your friends already use. A countdown to a new opening is not a reason to choose a different destination. Ask a squad member to confirm the state name first.

Start fresh together: pick a region and agree on the same newly available server in the in-game list. Our fresh-server schedule converts the developer’s planned EU and US East openings to your device time. It does not show live capacity or guarantee that a server opened on time.

Additional servers may open outside that plan, so treat the game’s current list as the final check.

Check before surrendering

The linked support article explains the transfer route but does not specify what happens to all belongings, property or progression during a voluntary transfer. Do not assume that a server switch preserves everything. Read any in-game confirmation before proceeding; if it is unclear, contact Kefir support.

Still unable to invite?

Confirm that both players have completed the switch to the same server, then try the invite again. If the message persists, record the exact error and server names for support. This page cannot check account restrictions, current outages or server capacity.
